María Antonieta Merino

María Antonieta co-leads regulatory quality analysis at Nalanda Analytica. She holds a law degree from the University of Lima, an LLM from New York University, a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Bath (UK), and has completed additional studies at the London School of Economics and the University of Pennsylvania. She has consulted for the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, the OECD, and the German development agency GIZ on regulatory reform, public policy, innovation, and competition, accumulating extensive experience in Latin America with projects in Peru, Mexico, and other countries in the region. She has broad teaching experience in regulation and regulatory improvement in Peru and Mexico. Currently, she is a member of the Commission for the Elimination of Bureaucratic Barriers at the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) of Peru. At Nalanda Analytica, she brings a cross-cutting perspective on international standards for regulatory improvement and regulatory impact analysis to the firm's Latin American portfolio of projects.
